Open discussion of sex in Saudi Arabia has always been a major taboo, with serious consequences for those caught by the country’s moral arbiters. The ‘Muttawa’ (religious police) have been known to take action on crimes as petty as a whispered sweet nothing or a slick of nail polish.
However, times are changing in the uptight Kingdom and this week the first evidence came to light of a public “sex ad” in Saudi. One of the Kingdom’s men seemed to have let his frustrations get the better of him, when he place his advertisement in his car window, offering his sexual services for sale.
The unnamed man pitched himself as "A stud for rent, to fertilize virgins" in the notice, placed in full view of the Kingdom's religious police, in the back window of his car on a main road in Riyadh.
Seemingly unwilling to hide his professed virility from the law, the young man had helpfully left the young debutantes of Riyadh (and the authorities) his phone number on the same sign.
Tracing the man proved none-too-difficult for the police, however, who arrested the wannabe playboy while he was sitting in his car "completely drunk". The police have so far not divulged information on whether the “stud” had any takers or not.
