A Saudi Arabian prince has bought two Bugatti Chiron show cars well before the illustrious model officially hits the road next year, the super-luxury maker announced via the social networking service Instagram.
The buyer splashed out an estimated five million dollars to clinch the blue Chiron, which was on display at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, as well as the Vision Gran Turismo concept vehicle seen at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show.
Media reports said the cars had been bought by Prince Badr Bin Saud, who also posted a photo to his Instagram account.
The regular Chiron is expected to retail for 2.4 million dollars when it touches down in exclusive showrooms, This is considerably more than the Veyron model it replaces.
Volkswagen-owned Bugatti, based in the French town of Molsheim, says it has already pre-sold 200 examples of the production Chiron, which will debut in 2017.
Bugatti said it was "delighted to announce" that the two show cars had "conquered the heart of a car enthusiast and Bugatti lover from Saudi Arabia, who purchased both vehicles to become the crowns of his private car collection."
Both Chirons are fitted with the company's huge eight-litre engine pumping out 1,500 horsepower.
