A Saudi traveled between Al-Jubail and Al-Khobar on his bicycle as part of a campaign against the dangers of drugs, Al-Hayat daily reported.
Abdulaziz Al-Khuzaim, a member of the amateur cyclists group “My Saudi Bicycle” that falls under Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz Center for Youth Support, covered the distance of 260 kilometers in 11 hours.
His aim was to caution students of the dangers of drugs, especially during the current final examinations period when drug dealers try to lure young people into becoming addicts, claiming that it has a positive effect on their studies.
He asked students to trust God and prepare properly for their exams, which he said was the only way to excel and succeed.
"My Saudi Bicycle" aims to change society’s view of bicycles and encouraging the younger generation to use them because they carry many health and environmental benefits.
Al-Khuzaim pointed out the group has conducted a number of similar campaigns and believes Saudi society needs to implement more volunteering activities.
He encouraged the public to interact with the group, set up in 2012, through its Twitter account.
