A Qatar Airways plane landed at Karachi airport after a child was born on the flight while flying over the Pakistan air zone, aviation sources said.

The Qatar Airways flight number 833 was flying from Seoul to Qatar when a woman, who is a Qatari national, felt severe labour pains. Local aviation sources said that emergency landing became imminent and it was permitted to land at Quide-e- Azam International Airport so that maternity care could be taken of the mother and child.

They said the woman and child were doing fine and were shifted to a hospital after they were disembarked from the flight.
