A man was arrested for drug dealing after he reported his car stolen, the Internal Security Forces said Wednesday. Syrian national M.M., age 27, filed a complaint on Sept. 6 that his rental car, a Hyundai Grand I10, had been stolen by two assailants in the vicinity of Kesrouan’s Nahr al-Kalb.
According to M.M.’s initial statement, the assailants claimed to be security personnel, had military pistols and fled to an unknown destination. But the ISF found discrepancies in his testimony, and arrested him the same day, based on a court order.
During the investigation, he allegedly admitted the car robbery was a result of a drug dealing dispute.
According to the ISF, he told security forces the car contained drugs and LL2 million ($1,300) in cash from selling drugs.
He also confessed to obtaining drugs from a drug dealer in the Bekaa with the help of Syrian national N.H., age 22.
The ISF arrested the latter the following day in Dora. During the investigation, N.H. allegedly confessed to drug use and dealing with M.M. Both men were referred to the judiciary.
