Mist in Egypt Causes 24-Vehicle Collision, Injuring 39

Thirty-nine people were injured on Monday on the Benha-Shubra al-Kheima road, in Qalyubiya governate located north of Cairo, in a severe collision involving 24 vehicles including cars, a microbus, and a light-duty truck.

The collision was allegedly caused by a lack of visibility due to mist.

Major-General Mohamed Darwish, head of the Qalyubiya Traffic General Directorate, and ambulances arrived at the scene to transfer the injured to hospitals before cars were removed to allow the movement of traffic to resume.
