CNN recently listed 10 of the world's most underrated cities. One of them is found in the MENA region: Isfahan.
”Isfahan is one of Iran's great treasures, breathtakingly elegant, located at the foot of the Zagros mountains,” writes CNN. The news network names Imam Square with the Imam Mosque complex the city's star attraction, ”though it's the smaller Sheik Lotfollah mosque with its stunning dome that stuns visitors.” Other things to explore include the covered bazaar and the courtyard café and tearoom at the Abbasi Hotel. “Romantics should (also) try a walk along Zayandeh River to the beautiful Khaju Bridge,” notes CNN.
