Lebanon Reports 2nd Drowning at Tripoli Beach in 1 Single Day

A man drowned Saturday at a public beach in the northern city of Tripoli, becoming the second reported drowning victim in Lebanon in a single day, the state-run National News Agency reported.

The young man, born in 1996 and identified by the initials M.Aa., drowned in Tripoli’s Mina area, according to the NNA. Red Cross personnel have taken his body to a nearby hospital.

Another man drowned earlier in the day near the southern city of Tyre, the NNA reported at the time.
