An improvised bomb detonated late Sunday at an apartment in Menoufiya governorate, killing its maker, state news agency MENA reported.
Two suspects were arrested in the same apartment by security forces.
Homemade bombs have targeted security forces and state infrastructure since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
