One sixth-grader's inspiring take on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

The Great Flood Collective, or Hamabul, is a community organization that uses art to discuss contentious political and social issues in the Middle East. They recently hosted a workshop for children in Sderot to help them deal with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Your Middle East reports.

“We feared that the poisonous atmosphere will be visible in the drawings, but what turned out what the opposite,” said an activist.

One sixth grader created an especially inspiring drawing that shows Israeli planes and Hamas rockets turning into hearts upon contact. The hearts shower the people, both Israeli and Palestinian, on the ground below.
