A gynecological conference held on Tuesday in Jerusalem has drawn anger for its alleged discrimination. A spokesperson for the conference has stated that not only will the panels be filled entirely by men, but women will even be barred from sitting in the audience.
The event is sponsored by Meuhedet, one of the country's major HMOs, and Yad Haramah, a haredi medical institute. Meuhedet has since issued a statement that "The goal of the conference is to encourage dialogue with... rabbis (with whom the hundreds of thousands of our clients consult) The nature of the event was designed to suit the target audience it is trying to serve."
