A leak caused by a gas cylinder resulted in six women and two children being injured on Sunday in a fire in Giza’s al-Badrasheen area as they visited a newly-married couple in their apartment.
Badrasheen Police Station received a report from Hawamdeya General Hospital of six women aged between 28 and 63, and two children aged 2 and 3-years old, sustaining burns on their bodies.
Emergency authorities visited the hospital to hear the victims’ testimonies of the incident, who reported that they were visiting the newly-wed couple. A fire broke out suddenly when one of the victims switched on the lights in the kitchen.
There were no accusations or suspicions of deliberate arson.
