Abdel-Mo"ez Ibrahim, Head of the High Juridical Elections Commission (HJEC) announced results of the third phase of parliamentary elections. The results showed that Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) and "El-Nour" Party were ahead of other parties on lists' competitions. A number of independent candidates will compete in the run-off with Islamist candidates in most constituencies.
The run-off will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday 17 and 18 January.
Results of the first round of the third stage are as follows:
- Number of voters who were eligible to cast their ballots 14,039,300.
- Number of people who voted 8,656,657.
- Number of valid votes 7,836,253.
- Number of invalid votes 820.444.
The Governorate of Dakahliya - 36 seats

The first constituency (Mansoura I, Mansoura II, Mansoura County, Belqas County, Talkha County, Nabaroh County and Gamasa)
- Freedom and Justice Party came in the first place with 155.546 votes.
- "El-Nour" Party came in the second place with 101.595 votes.
- The Continuing Revolution Alliance came in the third place with 85.266 votes.
- "Al-Wafd" Party came in the fourth place with 39.977 votes.
- Egypt's Nationalist Party came in the fifth place with 16.668 votes.
- The Egyptian Bloc came in the sixth place with 8417 votes.
- The Centre Party came in the seventh place with 5503 votes.
The second constituency (Dekerness County, Mahalet Dimna County, Sherbin County, Manzala County, Matariya County, Gamaliya County, Meat Selseal County, Miniet Nasr County, and Kordi)
- Freedom and Justice Party came in the first place with 237.431 votes
- "El-Nour" Party came in the second place with 169.864 votes
- "Al-Wadf" came in the third place with Party 73.420 votes
- The Continuing Revolution Alliance came in the fourth place with 54.308 votes.

Run-off will be held between Osama Mohammed Abdel-Atti Metwalli, (independent peasant) with 52.686 votes, Elsayed Mohamad Adawi Niazi of (FJP) with 49.815 votes, Ramadan Mohamed Imam, workers of (FJP) with 49.815 votes and Abdel-Qader Ibrahim Abdel-Rahman, peasant, of "El-Nour" Party with 44.582 votes.
