A California woman convicted of killing her husband and cannibalizing his remains is seeking parole, authorities said.
Omaima Aree Nelson, who immigrated to the United States from Egypt in 1986, received a sentence of 27-years-to-life for killing William E. Nelson, 56, in 1991 in their Costa Mesa, Calif., apartment. She will face a parole board in Chowchilla State Prison next Wednesday, KTLA-TV, Los Angeles, reported.
Prosecutors says Nelson killed her husband, cooked his head and hands and then tried to get some ex-boyfriends to help dispose of the rest of the body parts.
She alleged her husband had raped her the night before she killed him and said she had been the victim of sexual abuse as a child in Egypt, the report said.
