The Civil Defense Sunday recovered the body of a man who had been missing for 14 days at the bottom of a valley in Chouf, local media reported.
The body was found at the bottom of the Bisri valley on the banks of a local river, between the towns of Joun and Safarieh.
The operation was reportedly made more difficult by the challenging topography, made up of sheer cliffs. Once the body was secured, a helicopter reportedly lifted the body from the valley after which it was taken to Sidon’s government hospital.
Some reports suggested the man had been searching for gold in the river around the time he went missing.
