A young woman, who filed a complaint against her roommate for stealing her money, has been jailed in Abu Dhabi for prostitution. The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance found the woman guilty and sentenced her to six months in jail to be followed by deportation.

Official court documents stated that the woman went to the police, saying the money she earned from sex trade was stolen by her friend. The police interrogated the roommate, who admitted to stealing the money. She claimed she had some financial issues back home due to which she stole the cash.

When she apologised to the woman, she withdrew the complaint. The police let the roommate go, but arrested the woman instead for prostitution.
