Top officials from the United States are due to commence "high-level talks" with Israeli officials in Tel Aviv today, according to Agence France Presse.
U.S. National Security Advisor Susan Rice will lead a group of delegates in a two-day U.S.-Israel Consultative Group meeting that will start Wednesday.
Wednesday's meeting represents the latest iteration of the regularly scheduled talks that are designed to provide a space for "strategic interagency consultations with senior members of the U.S. and Israeli governments to discuss a wide range of bilateral and regional security issues."
Rice, who is visiting Israel for the first time as Washington's top security advisor, is set to meet with Netanyahu as well as Israeli President Shimon Peres during the meetings.
However, the talks comes only days after the U.S.-brokered Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations ended in stalemate.
The White House is still debating and considering whether or not it should push for continued negotiations, despite Israeli Prime Minister's announcement last month that Tel Aviv "was pulling out of the [peace] process [officially]."
Reports and allegations have surfaced that top U.S. officials have blamed Israeli leaders for terminating the peace process, but State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf has denied all such statements.
"Both sides did things that were incredibly unhelpful," she stated.
