Microsoft South Gulf and systems integrator WJ Towell Computer Services have announced a strategic partnership to help build the level of Microsoft Enterprise solutions expertise in the Sultanate of Oman.

The deal, the first partnership of its kind in the South Gulf region, will include the opening of a Microsoft Enterprise Solutions Laboratory in the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), the IT park of Oman, and the establishment of a solutions team at WJ Towell Computer Services.

The partnership will focus on raising the levels of expertise and quality of Microsoft solutions deployment in Oman. WJ Towell Computer Services is in the process of appointing a team of Microsoft engineers, including pre-sales and software development support, to increase its capability to implement Microsoft's enterprise solutions.

In addition, as part of the commitment to the Omanisation program, the team will also incorporate a number of young Omani IT professionals, who will be trained as Microsoft engineers.
