ALBAWABA - The UK, Canada, and Australia are in talks of banning Musk's X (formerly Twitter) after users used Grok, the social media platform's AI companion, to generate explicit deepfake images of women and children.

The possible ban sparked mixed reactions among internet users worldwide, with many accusing the three countries of censorship and a breach of free speech.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told reporters in Canberra, "The fact that this tool was used so that people were using its image creation function through Grok is, I think, just completely abhorrent."

He added, "It, once again, is an example of social media not showing social responsibility."

According to Inde News, citing reports from Telegram, Alabeses's words aligned with the UK and Canada, which also showed interest in allegedly banning X due to users violating human rights and laws by using Grok to generate AI images of underage children and women.

GB News also reported that London's Downing Street is in talks with Australia and Canada to ban the platform following the troubling AI trend.

In response, Canadian Liberal MPs assured Canadian netizens that"Canada is not considering a ban of X."

As an example, some users would ask Grok to generate images of famous actresses and underage children in explicit clothing without consent, violating several laws.

In response to the possible ban, a user on X wrote, "I don't think they understand how badly this will end up for them."

Another added, "Crazy move. A country shouldn’t be able to ban a social network. People should be free to choose how they get informed."

According to The Telegraph, Musk accused the UK's Labour Party of "censorship" over the country's possible ban of X due to users generating explicit AI images. The X owner also flooded his official account with reposts mocking the ban.
