The Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics reported Monday that 14% of the over-20 population, say some 500,000 people, ate less last year because of money problems, including 16% of women and 12% of men.
A total of 29% of the unemployed and 27% of people in households with gross incomes of NIS 2,000 (less than $500) or less per capita per month ate less food, compared with 4% of people in households with gross incomes of over NIS 4,000 per capita per month.
According to Globes, the report was based on a social survey of 7,200 people, representing the adult population of Israel. (menareport.com)
