Sony's PS5 detachable drive is easily swappable!

ALBAWABA - A new video was shared online of a user swapping the detachable disk of Sony's new PS5 Slim between consoles, shutting off all concerns users had about it.

The YouTuber in question is Mystic, he is known for his content on everything PlayStation whether it's about exploring old, vintage video games or tearing down Sony's beloved consoles for research and review purposes.

The video showcases Mystic unboxing the console, comparing it to its larger predecessor, and testing its overall performance by testing the noise, detachable hard drive, and more. 

After testing the detachable hard drive, Mystic found out that the new PlayStation 5 handles the swapping well since the system registers them quickly shutting off all concerns about the drive being locked to a specific console.

According to VGC, The detachable drive seems to act like a PS5 controller. 

For example, if a player resets their PlayStation 5 with the detachable disc, it will require an internet connection to register it, but once the drive has been registered once, it can be used offline again without an issue.

One of the detachable drive's biggest con is that it requires an internet connection to register to the PS5 making it impossible for players to register it if the console is offline. This caused quite a steer on the internet since the drive will be deemed useless.

According to VGC, there is a possibility that Sony will release an update removing this deal-breaking feature.

Sony's new PS5 already hit US stores on November 10 and will continue to roll out globally in the coming months. 

According to Sony, once the old variants run out of stock the new versions of the PlayStation 5 will be the only ones to go on sale.
