Saudi specialists stated that the water desalinization sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia needs 10-20 billion Saudi Riyals ($2.5-5 billion) worth of investments over the next 10 years, reported Al-Hayat. Presently, the Kingdom needs 15 water desalinizing stations, particularly along the eastern and western coasts.
More than 20 local and international companies are bidding for these water desalinizing station projects. The construction cost per station is estimated at SR 3.5 billion ($933 million), based on private sector figures. — (menareport.com)
