ALBAWABA – With the start of the World Defense Show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has showcased the new Hawk T-165 jet aircraft, inaugurated by the Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman, who announced on X (previously Twitter) that assembly took place in the Kingdom from local hands.
The construction of 22 cutting-edge Hawk T-165 planes was successfully shown at a presentation on the Kingdom's aircraft assembly program that Prince Khalid attended, located in The Eastern Province's King Abdulaziz Air Base is the home to the aircraft development and overhaul program, which saw contributions from 25 local companies to manufacture 3,114 parts of the aircraft, according to Arab News.
Bin Salman autographed the aircraft and accepted a memento from the CEO of the Saudi-British Defense Cooperation Program in recognition of all those involved in the jet assembly program, whose labor contribution to the project's final aircraft reached around 99 percent, followed by the prince adding a note to the Saudi Falcons team's official visit log, commemorating both the team's silver jubilee and its 25th foundation anniversary according to Arabic RT.
The World Defense Show has kicked off today, with companies and officials from all around the globe showcasing their new defense technologies at Riyadh, with Saudi Arabia earlier announcing a new security service vehicle fleet manufactured by Lucid Motors to be shown at the event.
