The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is positioned first among urea producers throughout the Arab world. According to a report in Al-Jazirah daily, in 1999, the kingdom produced 2,284,000 tons and exported 1,765,000 tons of urea.
In second place, following Saudi Arabia in terms of production volume of urea, is Qatar, whereas Syria is positioned third. Al-Alam Al-Yawm recently published an estimate of the overall urea production in the Arab world, stating the total output volume reached 7,077,000 tons last year. –(Albawaba-MEBG)
