The world’s leading retailers and shopping centre developers will converge in Dubai in October, when the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC), holds its 10th annual Convention and Exhibition – the biggest in the event’s history.
The event will focus on critical issues facing shopping centre developers, owners, managers, retailers, lenders and suppliers in one of the fastest growing retail markets in the world. Industry analysts forecast the regional market will be worth US $500 billion by 2010.
“The exhibition will be three times bigger than the 2003 edition and will bring together exhibitors from the Middle East, Europe, USA, South Africa, Australia and the Far East,” said Kim Redman, MECSC’s Regional Director for the Middle East.
The MECSC is expecting over 250 delegates to attend the conference sessions which will be held at Jumeirah Beach Hotel’s Convention Centre, from October 4-6.
A number of major regional retail projects are currently under way in Dubai, including the MAF Group’s Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Festival City’s retail development - The Crescent , Nakheel’s Gardens Shopping Mall, Dubailand’s Mall of Arabia – set to be the world’s largest – and Jumeirah Beach Residences, some of which will be exhibiting at the event.
The event will feature ‘The Barista Coffee Village’, where people can set up meetings on a one-to-one basis and network and exchange ideas besides an Internet Café and a Tech Corner.” (menareport.com)
