Warba Bank Concludes Ramadan’s Quran Reading Competition at Al Asimah Mall
As part of its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote Islamic values and strengthen the presence of the Holy Quran in the hearts of Muslims, Warba Bank announced the conclusion of the fourth edition of its Ramadan Quran Reading competition which saw over 3,500 individuals participating. The competition was held in collaboration with the “Saaad” app, a Kuwaiti digital platform specialized in Quran recitation and learning, and featured a dedicated activation booth at Al Asimah Mall.
This initiative comes as part of the Bank’s ongoing efforts to collaborate with local malls and digital platforms that serve the community, aiming to promote Islamic values and encourage a culture of Quran recitation and reflection. Through this competition, Warba Bank seeks to motivate individuals across all age groups to recite the Holy Quran and enhance their tajweed and proper recitation skills, utilizing innovative digital solutions that enable participation from anywhere, as well as by engaging directly with Warba Bank at its booth during its presence at Al Asimah Mall from March 1 to 7.
A Commitment to Doing Good and Strengthening Islamic Identity
In this context, Mr. Abdullah Abdul Rahim Fakhro, Executive Director of the Sharia Management at Warba Bank, stated: “Adherence to Islamic values lies at the core of our identity at Warba Bank. Our Ramadan initiatives reflect our commitment to supporting the community and enhancing religious awareness. At Warba Bank, we strive to be more than just a financial institution; we aim to be a partner in building a cohesive society grounded in the principles of doing good and giving. The Ramadan Quran Reading competition is not merely a recitation contest, it is an invitation to all members of society, young and old, male and female, citizens and residents alike, to connect with the Holy Quran in a modern and accessible way that blends advanced technology with the spirituality of the holy month.”
Fakhro added: “We aim for this initiative to serve as an opportunity for everyone to recite the Quran and draw closer to Allah, while ensuring accessibility for all through the ‘Saaad’ app, which allows easy participation without the need for physical attendance. This initiative reflects our belief in the importance of providing an environment that encourages individuals to make the most of the holy month by developing their Quranic skills and embracing the profound values of Islam.”
Proficient Recitation and Valuable Prizes
The competition enabled participants to recite selected verses from the Holy Quran regardless of their proficiency level, whether highly skilled or beginners, through their smart devices via the “Saaad” app. This digital experience reflects the Bank’s vision of leveraging technology to serve the community and promote religious values, particularly in learning and reciting the Quran during the holy month.
Recitations were evaluated and reviewed by specialists in Quran education based on precise criteria, including tajweed rules and linguistic accuracy. This provided participants with a valuable learning opportunity to improve their recitation skills, while also entering a draw for valuable prizes upon completing the required recitation. Both advanced participants and beginners had equal chances of winning, reinforcing inclusivity and encouragement.
Participation categories included males and females aged 15 and above, who were assigned Surah An-Nur; participants aged 11 to 14, assigned Surahs Al-Haqqah and Al-Ma’arij; those aged 8 to 10, assigned Surah Al-Qalam; and the youngest category, aged 4 to 7, assigned Juz’ 60.
A Community Partnership in a Sustainable Vision
This initiative reflects the shared commitment of Warba Bank, Al Asimah Mall, and the “Saaad” app to social responsibility and the promotion of Islamic values. Together, they aim to deliver initiatives that serve all segments of society and contribute to the development of individuals’ religious and cultural skills, embodying a vision that integrates financial innovation with social and spiritual engagement.
