Ubf Underpins Its Committment To CSR With Second Edition Of Inter-bank Football Tournament

IBFT will kick off 14th February, with all proceeds being donated to charity

As part of its commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility, and to bolster relations among banking community members, the UAE Banks Federation (UBF) is organizing it's 2nd Inter-Bank Football Tournament (IBFT) in February 2020, under the theme “Banking on the champions within.” All proceeds of IBFT will be donated charity. 

Bringing together 22 teams from leading local, regional and international banks in the UAE, IBFT 2020 will be held at GEMS Heritage School. The tournament will officially kick off on 14th February by Jamal Saleh, Director General of UAE Banks Federation along with a family festival, and will take place every Friday until 13th March 2020.

Commenting on the launch of the IBFT 2020, H.E. Abdulaziz Al Ghurair, Chairman of the UAE Banks Federation, said: “We are delighted to launch the2nd edition of UBF’s Inter-Bank Football Tournament, and bring together our member banks to give back to the wider community. This year’s competition has already received a fantastic reception from our member banks, and is an excellent example of how we can come together for the greater good. We are confident that this tournament will bring joy to all participants, while demonstrating the power of unity and the importance of giving back to society.”

Participating banks include Dubai Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Arab Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank, RAK Bank, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Al Masraf, Bank of Sharjah, Mashreq Bank, Banque Misr, Credit Agricole, Standard Chartered Bank, Invest Bank, National Bank of Fujairah, Al Hilal Bank, Emirates Islamic Bank, HSBC and Sharjah Islamic Bank.

Family day entertainment activities and shows will take place during the grand opening ceremony on Friday. These activities will include: Banker's Talent Show – “For Bankers, By Bankers”, team parade, carnival games, cinema corner, team building activities, and raffle draws. There will also be an opportunity for the creative UAE national women participants to showcase their art.
