Toyota Comedy at the heart of the Almost Famous Experience

In line with its aspiration to support all types of arts, especially comedy, Al-Markazia (CTA), the sole distributor of Toyota, Lexus and Hino trucks in Jordan, sponsored the Standup Comedy show of the international comedian Russell Peters, as part of his Almost Famous Comedy Tour which has been taking place in different parts of the world.

The show, which was organized by Behind the Scenes, was held at the Royal Cultural Palace in Amman for a duration of two days, on 28th and 29th of January, 2016, creating an atmosphere of joy and laughter. Al-Markazia has been keen on being the primary supporter of this cultural event, which is in harmony with the company's strategy as well as its platform "Toyota Comedy", which aims to contribute to the dissemination of comedic arts, especially standup, among the Jordanian youth. Al-Markazia also provided transportation for Russel Peters and his team for the whole duration of their stay in the Kingdom.

While Commenting on the event, the Sales and Marketing Director and Deputy GM at Al-Markzia Nadim Haddad said: "AL-Markazia is determined  to support all types of arts and cultural activities in the Kingdom, and through " Toyota Comedy " we continue to support comedic events especially Standup Comedy, which has become the favorite type of art among the youth. It not only simulates their aspirations but also contributes to increasing community awareness using an entertaining comic framework that is embedded with cultural and enlightening messages”.

In conjunction with the event, Al-Markazia launched an interactive contest titled "fill in the blanks" which was inspired by folk terminology in Jordan. Incomplete Jordanian sayings were shown on the theater’s screens and the audience had to fill in the blanks through their social media platforms using the Hashtag #Toyotacomedy. By participating the audience entered the contest to win special prizes from Al-Markazia.

Al-Markazia believes that communicating with the Jordanian youth as well as understanding and meeting their needs and aspirations is at the heart of its strategy as a company. Sponsoring this event is one communication channel through which it will strengthen its relationship and partnership with the local community in general and the youth in particular.
