Tobacco Control Unit at HMC holds Anti-Smoking Awareness lecture for Independent School Students

Ms. Nadia Fanous, Senior Project Coordinator at Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Tobacco Control Unit recently delivered an awareness workshop titled ‘Adverse Health Impacts of Smoking, Prevention and Treatment’ to the students of Abdulla Bin Turki Independent School for Boys.  

During the interactive workshop, students were able to engage in discussions as they learnt about different types of tobacco products and smoking. At the end of the workshop, students were asked to perform a role play on the subject ‘How to Say No to Smoking’. 

The aim of the workshop, which is one of the many activities being organized by the Tobacco Control Unit, was to increase awareness in the local community about the consequences of smoking and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
