Tamkeen, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, will hold the grand finale of the 8th “A9eel in School” competition at Seef Mall in the Seef District on June 11, 2015. The initiative, launched in 2009, supports Tamkeen’s ongoing efforts to support Bahrain’s youth and prepare for success in the labour market by promoting positive work-related values and ethics.

Overall, 34 schools from across Bahrain participated in the “A9eel in School” programme for the academic year 2014/2015. From that group, 10 schools qualified for the final round after a highly competitive evaluation and selection process on May 7 and overseen by a panel of judges from Tamkeen and the Ministry of Education. The top 3 winners will be announced at the finale on Thursday the 11th of June 2015.

In conjunction, an exhibition will be organised on the day of the finale to enable the public to view and interact with the students about their projects. The exhibition, which will be followed by the awards ceremony, will be held from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm next to gate 1 in Seef Mall’s new extension.

Commenting on the announcement, Vice-President for Human Capital Development in Tamkeen Amal Al-Kooheji said, “The A9eel in School” programme is a valuable part of Tamkeen’s new approach to develop Bahrainis’ capabilities and help them grow throughout all stages of their careers. This year’s projects truly illustrate the wonderful young bright minds who will contribute to building a brighter future for Bahrain.”

Each school team had to present an original project to the panel, with the aim of showcasing what they learned from the programme. The focus of this year’s projects was to creatively address a challenge faced within the school environment that is related to A9eel values - Attendance, Appearance, Attitude, Acceptance, Ambition, Accountability, and Appreciation. The students then had to market their solutions and measure their impact.

The 10 schools teams which qualified for the finale are: Khawla Secondary Girls School, Al-Shorooq Secondary Girls School, Al-Estiqlal Secondary Girls School, Saar Secondary Girls School, Hamad Town Secondary Girls School, , Al-Hoora Secondary Girls School, Isa Town Secondary Girls School, Al-Tadamon Secondary Girls School, Jedhafs Secondary Boys School, and Shaikh Khalifa Institute for Technology.
