Tamkeen Boosts Human Resources Practices in Bahrain

A ceremony was held Thursday 4 July 2013 to celebrate the graduation of the first group of trainees from Tamkeen’s Human Resources Certificate Programme, one of the programmes under Tamkeen’s Talent Management Programme and Tamkeen’s Professional Certification Programme as part of its efforts to develop the skills and capabilities of Bahraini human capital and make Bahrainis the employees of choice.
The 142 graduates were awarded the Certified Professional in Human Resources & Compensation (CPHRC) certificates from Golden Trust Training Institute and Consultancy, the Tamkeen-appointed training provider for the programme, in association with the Institute for Human Resources Management Education (iHRME) in the United States.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Tamkeen’s Acting Senior Manager for Human Capital Development Ms. Suad Al-Shakrani, Dr. Lulwa Al-Mutlaq, President of Golden Trust, the institute's executive management; Dr John Maxwell, iHRME chairman; and a number of senior officials.
The CPHRC programme, which is set to serve 200 Bahrainis in all, offers high-level training courses on best practices in leadership and management which suit SME and private sector employee needs. The training will enable beneficiaries to apply the acquired knowledge in enhancing their enterprises and staff, which will contribute to boosting the private sector and national economy as a whole.
Commenting on the graduation, Mrs. Al Shakrani expressed her delight with the graduation of the first group of Bahrainis in the critically important human resources sector. "We in Tamkeen believe in the training and development of the Bahraini human resources to improve individual productivity and support the Bahraini economy, and we wish the graduates continued success in their future careers."
For her part, Dr. Al-Mutlaq said: "On behalf of the graduates, we thank Tamkeen for offering such programmes, which provide Bahrainis the best levels of training and internationally recognised certifications, and makes Bahrainis become employees of choice. The graduates are comprised of Bahrainis working in the human resources and administrative positions and business owners who wanted to expand their knowledge and skills in the field of human resources management."
Dr. Maxwell commented: "Human Resources is considered the key factor in economic production, while machinery and capital are products of human ingenuity. I am truly proud and impressed by the quality of the human capital of Bahraini human and their passion for learning and self-development, as demonstrated to by all the trainers at the institute. Today, we congratulate the graduates for reaping the fruits of their hard work by awarding them this prestigious certification."
Tamkeen’s Human Resources Certification Programme is one of 8 programmes under the Management and Leadership Training initiative, which seeks to train 2,400 Bahrainis through workshops and training courses in Arabic and English the fields of leadership and management, with a view to match the acquired skills with the requirements of the local market and international standards.
