Samsung launches security solution for enterprise consumers at GITEX

Samsung Electronics Co, Ltd., a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, announced at GITEX Technology Week the commercial availability of Samsung KNOX, a mobile security solution that will help businesses in the region address their mobility security concerns.

Samsung KNOX addresses the mobile security needs for enterprise consumers by offering business leaders peace of mind within the workspace by protecting enterprise data on Android devices, managing mobile security within the IT environment and enabling businesses to safely operate a ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) programme.

At the application layer, KNOX offers a container solution that separates business and personal use of a mobile device. This offers protection of business data and applications from data leakage, viruses and malware attacks. Using this solution, employees can activate the container without involving the IT department and store important personal data inside the container directly from their personal device.

By incorporating a platform security solution, Samsung has made it possible for enterprise consumers to access business programs and store applications and data such as corporate email and sensitive material without the risk of data leakage as the IT department can manage this through an Exchange ActiveSync Server (EAS).

Within the IT environment KNOX provides reassurance and convenience for IT departments looking to implement and manage BYOD strategies by giving them comprehensive control, without infringing on employees’ privacy and keeping them satisfied with the consistent user experience of their personal device.
