Samsung Electronics Levant continues its preparations for Amman International Marathon

Samsung Electronics Levant, announced sponsoring the Amman International Marathon, by renewing its agreement with Run Jordan for the 6^th consecutive year, to sponsor the marathon’s 7^th edition. On Friday October 2^nd, Run Jordan kicked off the Children’s Race, and is preparing for the Adults Race to be held on Friday October 9^th, 2015.

Samsung Electronics Levant’s sponsorship tothe marathon comes from the company’s CSR program in Jordan; reaffirming its commitment to the communities the company exists in.

Mr. Bumsuk Hong, President of Samsung Electronics Levant commented on the cooperation by saying: “This partnership for the 6^th year,confirmsour deep commitment toward initiatives we believe in its impacton individuals’ lives. Not to mention emphasizing on the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle by introducing the culture of sports and running, creating in return a sustainable change within the community”.  

Samsung Amman International Marathon aims to promotethe sport of running for all age groups to encourage a healthy lifestyle. The event will feature three races including a 42 km Full Marathon, a 21 km Half Marathon and a 10 km Fun Run, in addition to a Children’s Race that took place on October 2^th, 2015.

It’s worth mentioning that Run Jordan is an NGO engaged in organizing running events and programs for Jordanians of all age categories and physical abilities. Run Jordan is supporting efforts to position Jordan as an international sporting venue.

The origins of Run Jordan are traced back to Amman International Marathon, which was founded by the Greater Amman Municipality and the Neurological Society in 2009. The original founders chose to restructure Amman International Marathon to establish Run Jordan, in line with their goal to combine the collective efforts of various entities under one organizational umbrella.
