Purposeful and Sustainable Orange Jordan Initiatives on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Orange Jordan organized a series of activities under the umbrella theme “Differently Abled, Definitely Enabled,” in celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. These activities reflect the company’s principles of promoting inclusion, fostering innovation, and creating a positive impact on society, starting with changing the network name to “INCLUSION”.

Orange continued these activities by launching the “Digital Solutions in the Tourism Sector Hackathon for Persons with Disabilities,” held in conjunction with World Tourism Day. The hackathon attracted remarkable interest, receiving 115 submissions.

The hackathon began with an intensive training bootcamp, guiding participants to refine their ideas and turn them into practical, implementable projects. This was followed by a pitching session presented to a specialized jury panel, which assessed the most innovative digital solutions leveraging cutting-edge technologies to empower and include persons with disabilities in the tourism sector. The winning teams were then celebrated during a ceremony under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Emad Hijazin, in recognition of their creativity and their ability to deliver solutions that enhance accessibility and ensure inclusive digital and tourism experiences for all.

The company also launched the “Qadroon” program in partnership with Ablers, aimed at empowering youth with disabilities by equipping them with the professional skills needed to enter the workforce with confidence and competence. The program offers comprehensive opportunities, including specialized training, career guidance sessions, and individual support, reinforcing the company’s commitment to their economic and professional empowerment.

The initiatives also included sponsoring a cultural event for persons with visual impairments, featuring interactive competitions on general disability-related knowledge, alongside a showcase of the Blind Culture Forum’s achievements and highlighting the success stories and inspiring initiatives of its members.

Through these diverse initiatives, Orange Jordan reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to supporting digital inclusion by enabling everyone to access digital services easily and effectively, establishing strategic partnerships with the local community to maximize the impact of its initiatives, and promoting awareness and a culture of inclusion in the workplace and society.
