Pepsico-Jordan Named Silver Sponsor of Samsung Amman International Marathon 2017

For the sixth consecutive year, PepsiCo-Jordan continues its silver sponsorship of the ‘Samsung Amman International Marathon’ for 2017, thus reaffirming its ongoing commitment to supporting sports and youth in the Kingdom.

The Marathon took place in Amman on Friday 13 October, 2017, with a large number of participants of various ages and ability levels taking part. The event included a 42-km marathon, a 21-km half-marathon, a 10-km fun run as well as special races for the differently abled including those with visual or mobility impairments. In addition, a children’s race was held a week prior to the main event on Friday 6 October, 2017.

PepsiCo-Jordan’s sponsorship of this event, which is being held for its ninth year in a row, entailed acting as the exclusive and official supplier of bottled water for Marathon activities, by providing pure Aquafina drinking water to the participants of the race. This sponsorship comes by virtue of the agreement signed by Eng. Nidal Hamam, General Manager of PepsiCo-Jordan and Lina Kurd, General Manager of Run Jordan, last February.

On this occasion, Eng. Nidal Hamam stated, “Our ongoing sponsorship of this annual event reiterates PepsiCo-Jordan’s dedication to promoting a healthy lifestyle by motivating individuals of different age groups to take up regular exercise, in addition to fostering a generation of professional runners; a vision we share with Run Jordan. Furthermore, this sponsorship emphasizes our efforts to support youth and sports in Jordan and to adopt programs and sports events that have altruistic and humanitarian goals.”
