NBAD opens 1st neighborhood branch in Dubai's Meadows

The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), the Number One Bank in the UAE, has opened a new state-of-the-art branch in Dubai’s upscale Meadows neighbourhood.

NBAD's new branch in the Meadows, one of Dubai's distinguished residential areas, is the first of many "neighbourhood" concept branches that the bank intends to introduce in the next few months and is engineered to make branch banking more convenient, pleasurable and intimate for consumers. With operation hours that will be extended shortly to 12 hours a day -from 8.00am to 8.00pm, the branch offers both cash and non-cash services inside a stylishly designed interior that is complemented by sophisticated information technology.

The new branch brings NBAD's total branches in Dubai to 14. NBAD has one of the largest branch and ATM networks in the UAE, with 116 branches and 483 ATMs across the nation.

Michael Tomalin, the Group Chief Executive of NBAD; Saif Al Shehhi, the Senior General Manager of the Domestic Banking Division of NBAD; Abdulla Ghobash, NBAD’s Regional Manager in the Northern Emirates; and senior executives of the Bank inaugurated the new branch.

“NBAD is pleased to expand this novel concept in neighbourhood branch banking," said Mr. Al Shehhi. “We believe NBAD’s innovative branches will serve as a trend-setter across the market.”

Recently, NBAD launched a new branch in Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road designed on new principles of customer convenience. Both branches will provide a full range of services from deposits and loans to cards, investments, and affluent banking services.

“The objective behind this concept is to make consumer feel comfortable and welcome inside the bank,” said Suvo Sarkar, the General Manager of Consumer & Elite Banking. “In our push to expand market share for consumer banking, we are re-designing our branches, redefining our banking processes and launching more customer-centric products. Our neighbourhood branch concept with a branch next door and extended banking hours will make banking easier for our customers."

This branch is strategically located near an ENOC gas station and shopping complex in the Meadows. It is staffed by professional bankers under the leadership of Ms Mahra Al Haj, a young Emirati banker. 

NBAD has been ranked by the prestigious Global Finance among its World’s 50 Safest Banks for three years and the safest bank in the Middle East. NBAD has also been named the Best Bank in the UAE in 2011 for the third consecutive year and for the fifth time in a decade by Euromoney.
