MoF organises workshop about the financial aspects of the Government Readiness Index

As part of its efforts to promote strategic work principles at a federal government level, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) recently organised a workshop about the financial aspects of the Government Readiness Index for the third medium-term strategic plan for 2014-2016. The workshop was held in Dubai and attended by representatives from 45 ministries and federal entities.
HE Mariam Mohammad Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Management of Financial Resources delivered a speech on behalf of HE Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, saying: “The Ministry continuously seeks to achieve its mission to develop the federal government’s financial resources in an efficient and innovative manner, through active fiscal policies and outstanding local and international relations. The Ministry also strives to enhance the effectiveness of financial planning and the implementation of the general budget, by adopting strategic indicators to enhance the government’s financial planning and budget execution across the UAE’s federal entities.”
The workshop covered the Ministry’s 2014-2016 strategic plan. This gave participants an opportunity to review the strategic objectives, indicators, programmes and initiatives of MoF’s operational plan, as well as collaboration amongst federal entities, which is one of the Ministry’s main priorities. Participants were also briefed about the six stages of the operational plan and the management of the government readiness index, which was issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, as well as the entities responsible for the implementation and follow ups.
