Reflecting its uncompromising dedication to food hygiene,Millennium Resort Mussanah was awarded the ISO 22000:2005 and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certifications by SGS, the world’s leading inspection, testing and verification company. The resort received the accreditations based on its full compliance with international best practices and state-of-the-art food manufacturing systems.

Christoph Schleissing, General Manager of Millennium Resort Mussanah, said, “We pride ourselves on embedding international best practices in aspect of our food chain, with these international certificates confirming the longstanding reliability of our dining services. Our hotel is only the second in the Sultanate of Oman to be awarded for ISO 22000: 2005, highlighting the strict procurement system we have in place.”

The ISO 22000:2005 certification sets requirements for an organization’s food safety management system with the goal of ensuring the highest levels of hygiene and conformity with international standards. The certification also provides guidelines related to every aspect of entire food chain, including downstream providers and diners.

Originally developed in the early 1960s, HACCP is an internationally recognized food control system designed to prevent potential hazards and maintain food safety. Regarded as the benchmark for safe food production, the system is a widely accepted qualification globally and uses an evidence-based approach that ensures strong commitment to food safety and hygiene.

Chef Dakshnamoorthy Subramanian, Executive Chef of Millennium Resort Mussanah, also commented, saying, “We would not have achieved these accolades without the commitment of our staff, who I would like to thank for implementing and maintaining our high standards. With our aim of delivering dining experiences of the highest quality, ISO 22000:2005 and HACCP certifications demonstrate our focus on maintaining stringent health and safety practices. Moving forward, we will continue to elevate our food and services to ensure every meal at our resort is on the highest quality and healthy all time.”

The resort recently introduced a special Friday brunch menu, offering a series of new culinary experiences at its Azure Restaurant. The new menu includes a number of tantalizing signature dishes including Makki, Temaki, and Nigari Sushi, Gulf Tiger Prawns cooked in mango salsa, smoked steaks, prime rib, and Omani spiced chicken among many other foodie favourites. For just 19.99 OMR per adult and half price for children below 12 years of age, visitors can enjoy the perfect brunch with soft drinks, tea, coffee and access to the resort’s private beach and five swimming pools included.
