Jordan Ahli Bank organizes an awareness seminar for its employees on the dangers of smoking

Marking the World Health Organization's celebrations of the World No Tobacco Day on May 31st, Jordan Ahli Bank organized an awareness seminar for its employees on the dangers of smoking, which was held at the bank's headquarters in cooperation with Pharmacy One on the 24th of May 2012.
Headed by Dr. Lara Abbasi, Deputy CEO of Healthcare at Pharmacy One, the seminar aimed at raising the general awareness of the bank's employees on the health, psychological and economic ramifications of the smoking habit, in addition to providing them with practical information on the ways to stem the habit permanently. This falls in line with the bank's continued efforts to cultivate a health-conscious internal culture and a harmonious work environment.
Commenting on this initiative, Ahli Bank's Deputy CEO/Head of Group Human Resources, Mr. Bashar Al Bakri explained that this and similar health-driven events organized by the bank epitomize its commitment to the welfare of its employees, who are its most treasured assets and the pillars of its success. He further noted that awareness building is the key to sustainable development, particularly when it comes to smoking cessation as it provides the smoker with the necessary knowledge and tools to combat the habit effectively by replacing it with other more constructive habits.
Jordan Ahli Bank's long-term sustainable development strategy comprises a plethora of initiatives geared toward awareness building on various fronts, including health, the environment, human rights and others.
