Jaguar Land Rover MENA launches Technician of the Year Award

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) MENA, the leading manufacturer of premium luxury vehicles, is launching its first regional competition to find the JLR Technician of the Year. This inaugural award programme, which will become an annual event, is dedicated to recognising and rewarding technicians who go above and beyond to ensure the highest standard of customer service.

The Technician of the Year Award programme will consist of a range of technical assessments and a customer service element to demonstrate how JLR technicians provide exemplary customer service beyond the mechanical fundamentals. Retailers from each market across the MENA region will have the opportunity to nominate up to two technicians for the programme, with selected technicians attending preliminary finals held in Amman, Jordan; Dubai, UAE and Casablanca, Morocco from 22 November to 6 December, 2015. Two of the top six finalists for both Jaguar and Land Rover brands will then compete for the title in Dubai on 26 January, 2016. In addition to winning the JLR Technician of the Year trophy and cash prizes, the two winning technicians will go on to compete in the Global JLR Technician of the Year finals, to be held in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2016.

As a long-term investor in its people across the MENA retailer network, JLR provides a comprehensive learning and development programme, ensuring employees from all levels and designations are trained to the highest possible standard. In 2014, it launched a dedicated regional training academy in Dubai to deliver technical and non-technical training programmes to retailers and regional office staff across the MENA network. Now, with 40 retailers across 18 markets and a further 24 retailers expected by 2017/18, the academy serves as a dedicated regional training facility to enable JLR to replicate the in-depth training offered by its UK-based academy.
