Now you can tip your driver with Careem.

We’re always thinking of new ways to make your experience better with Careem, and our Captains play a huge part in that. Every day, they work hard to serve you, and we believe it’s important to provide them with the resources to succeed. That’s why, we’re excited to announce three new features in our app today that will not only make your Careem experience better, but will also allow you to share your appreciation for your Captains.

An easy way to say thanks

You’ve always been able to tip your Captain when you’ve had an amazing trip, but today, we’re making that process a whole lot easier.

After each ride, you have the option of rating your Captain on a scale of 1 to 5. If you are satisfied with your Captain and give a rating of 4 or 5 stars, then an option will come up asking if you would like to leave a tip. You can either choose one of the three default amounts, or you can enter a custom amount. As always, tipping is completely optional.

If you leave a tip, you will receive two separate charges, one for the ride fare and one for the tip. This feature will be gradually rolled out over the next few days.

Giving feedback

If you leave a rating between 1 and 3 stars, you likely weren’t completed satisfied with your trip, and we want to know why. Now, when you leave one of these three ratings, you’ll be given an option to expand upon this rating with specific feedback

As you see, we’ve made the process quick and easy. Select the area that needs improvement and then the specific issue you faced. And if none of those options address your feedback, you can choose to leave your own personalized comment.

In-app help for common concerns

Lastly, we know that sometimes you might have questions or need to get in touch with a customer support agent. While we have a 24/7 call center, we also have a goal of addressing your concerns as quickly as possible. That’s why, as of today, you’ll be able to get all the answers you need directly within the Careem app. You’ll be able to pull up FAQs or simply submit an issue you had on your last ride.

Along those lines, you’ll now also be able to dispute past rides. Within your ride history, tap the ride you’d like to dispute and push the help button. You’ll be taken to a screen where you can report exactly what went wrong.

To learn more about each of these new features, which we’ll be rolling out gradually to all users, visit help.careem.com. We hope your next experience with Careem is as smooth and easy as possible! After all, that’s what we’re here for - to make your life simpler.
