IBQ has confirmed once again its support and participation at the upcoming 2012 Qatar Career Fair which will take place this April from the 1st to the 5th at the Qatar National Convention Centre. The event will bring together scores of Qatari-based companies looking for Qatar’s next professional generation. IBQ’s annual presence at the event will help attract an increasing number of aspiring Qatari professionals looking to start and build a first-rate career in banking and finance.
IBQ will dedicate some of its highly qualified experts to welcome and meet Qataris sharing first-hand information on the sector and offering effective advice for leading a successful and interesting career path in addition to discussing rewarding opportunities. IBQ’s participation reflects the bank’s commitment to support the 2030 national vision and the 2011-2016 development strategy of the country, both of which aim at creating work opportunities and a productive, knowledge-based workforce.
Amal Al Sada, Head of Human Resources at IBQ said: "IBQ has made large strides in its effort to support and develop a highly-qualified local workforce. The long-term career initiatives we have developed are part of the bank’s permanent Qatari Development Programme, which seeks to attract, recruit, train, develop and retain enthusiastic and ambitious young Qatari nationals. Qatar Career Fair is an excellent platform for meeting and choosing potential personnel who will surely add great value to our existing team. At IBQ, we aim to become the Employer of Choice which is underlined with our strong investment in our human capital.”
IBQ has been highly involved in Qatarization schemes year on year spearheading activities and well-planned programmes to develop and promote local talent based on the bank’s firm belief in the significance of a highly qualified workforce.
For example, IBQ has granted academic scholarships to groups of Qatari students in parallel to the permanent annual Qatari Development Programme which has been running at the bank for four consecutive years.
The IBQ’s Qatari Development Programme revolves around four key pillars: the IBQ Scholarship Programme to help students further enhance their university studies at top schools in Qatar and abroad; the College of North Atlantic programme for languages and banking skills; the 5-year individual career development plan; and the Graduate Trainee Programme.
IBQ has additionally demonstrated its commitment to knowledge-based initiatives through its innovative leadership programmes such as “Learn to Lead” in 2011.
