Hussain Kasim Internship Program Funds Bahraini Students to Participate in Audit Simulation Program in Malaysia
KPMG in Bahrain has recently sponsored four Bahraini students from Bahrain Polytechnic, who have also completed their internship at the firm, to participate in Sunway TES Centre of Accountancy Excellence (STES CAE) and ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Audit Simulation program in Malaysia.
The program is conducted in partnership with multinational audit firms to help talented students acquire practical audit work skills, enhance their practical learning and increase their exposure to audit work. This year, 38 teams worldwide participated in the program. However, Bahrain’s team was the only team from the Middle East to be ranked in the top five, which is a testament of the quality of the educational and practical background the accounting students obtain.
This support comes as part of Hussain Kasim Internship Program, the firm’s ongoing internship and youth development initiative. The program was established to provide learning opportunities for Bahraini students from leading universities inside and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain. It helps them gain valuable work experience and prepare them for successful careers. It has been named in honor of Hussain Kasim, the co-founder of KPMG in Bahrain, as he has always been passionate in his support to provide young Bahraini professionals a solid start to their careers in the financial industry.
