Honeywell Aerospace and denel aviation extend capabilities to sub-saharan Africa

Honeywell Aerospace has signed a strategic agreement with Denel Aviation, a division of Denel (SOC) Ltd, the South African aircraft OEM, maintenance, repair and overhaul facility. Under the agreement the parties will explore opportunities to provide retrofit, modification and upgrades to military fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, as well as commercial helicopters. The two companies will work to provide customers with integrated solutions for a wide range of Honeywell avionics, satellite communication and mechanical products that increase operational capability, reduce cost, and enhance safety, reliability and efficiency.
Operators in sub-Saharan Africa represent a critical market for Honeywell and Denel Aviation. The companies aim to apply their complementary knowledge to address the specific challenges of the region’s operators and deliver rapid maintenance and repair as well as improved communications, helping customers to extend the lifespan of their fleets and reduce downtime.
The agreement, signed in October 2015, will provide greater capabilities and support to over 1,500 military and commercial platforms in the region.
