HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum honours winners of “Minister of Finance Institutional Award of Excellence 2015

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance received a number of employees and representatives from winning departments of “Minister of Finance Institutional Award of Excellence 2015”, the Ministry’s team who has participated in UAE Innovation Week and the supervisory team of the Minister of Finance Award. The meeting was held in the Ministry of Finance’s (MoF) premises in Dubai, in which HH reviewed the achievements in different categories and recognised the efforts made towards achieving the Ministry’s vision, objectives and strategy.

The meeting was held in the presence of HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance (MoF), and their excellencies assistant undersecretaries, Heads of Departments and honoured employees.

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the efforts exerted by the Ministry’s team, which has played a significant role in the achievements of the Ministry on a local, regional and international level, and in positioning the Ministry as a pioneer in government financial work and achieving sustainability with its strategic relations that link the UAE with several countries, financial organisations and institutions across the world.

HH said: “Government excellence is no longer considered as just a theory but has become an essential and inevitable practice, through what the federal government has set as steps, initiatives and projects such as the launch of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Innovation Fund.”

As per the World Competitiveness Yearbook of 2014 issued by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), the Ministry has contributed to the UAE’s achievement to first rank globally in good management of public funds, second rank globally in and ease of doing business and third in international trade, economic performance and government financial policy.

The Ministry has set in place a medium –term strategic plan and clear goals which has helped in establishing an ideal institutional workplace with a clear timeline to achieve its objectives and which adds a real value to ministries and independent government entities related to the Federal government, as well as strategic partners including organisations and individuals.
