Gulf Bank was a gold sponsor of the first Organization Learning Conference held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs. The conference, organized by the Kuwaiti government’s Manpower & Government Restructuring Programme (MGRP), was conducted from Sunday, 12 February 2017 until Tuesday, 14 February 2017 at the Salwa Al Sabah Hall in Kuwait.

During the opening ceremony of the conference, Gulf Bank was awarded ‘Best Training Plan 2016” beating out numerous other private sector companies. This award recognizes the Bank’s staff training and educational initiatives, as well as its efforts invested in support of Kuwait’s youth.  This includes the Bank’s Ajyal Graduate Development Program, as well as its corporate social responsibility commitments to INJAZ-Kuwait and other initiatives.

The theme of the conference was “Effective Training Methods in the Private Sector”. The conference is in line with the State of Kuwait’s strategic direction of a sustainable national manpower development plan.

Panels and discussions addressed various issues on the role of the private sector in organizational learning and its impact on economic development, in addition to the strategy needed to encourage work environment and knowledge in institutions, and technology and the future of learning to name a few. Top CEOs, MPs, professors, strategic thinking experts and academies’ founders were brought together to share their wealth of experience in setting up a sound organizational learning philosophy.

The full day workshop alone comprised of practical sessions that tackled key problems such as the role of organizational learning in preparing leaders in the private sector, and strategic thinking in building the foundation of organizational learning for today and tomorrow.

Major players in the local market were invited to share their success stories and a series of discussions and workshops were conducted with the aim to find creative solutions and fresh ideas for effective learning and development in organizations.
