The first batch of employees of Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, left on Wednesday 20 April to Mecca to perform Umrah, as part of Empower’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The second batch will leave on Wednesday, 27 April so as to become the total number of Umrah performing staff to 85. The batches include employees who can't afford to go for Umrah or who haven't performed Umrah before.

“Sponsoring Empower’s employees with limited salaries to perform Umrah is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs and its efforts to boost the happiness of its employees,” says HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower. “It is also aimed to strengthen the great Islamic values in the hearts of our team.”

The company also aims to support its staff to maintain the work-life balance, and consolidate the values and principles of virtue through various community initiatives and programmes.

Addressing his team before the trip, Bin Shafar said: “Empower seeks to fulfill the life-wishes of our teams. By sponsoring the team to perform Umrah, we implement the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.”

From their end, Empower employees extended their gratitude to the company, for sponsoring the trip.

Empower currently operates more than 1 million 100 thousands RT, providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, among others.
