DuPont to present sustainable solutions for process engineering at MEPEC 2013
DuPont, one of the leading market-driven science companies, will emphasize the importance of adopting sustainable practices to optimize process engineering during the 2013 Middle East Process Engineering Conference & Exhibition (MEPEC) taking place from September 29 to October 2, 2013 at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre.
MEPEC 2013 will feature more than 350 keynote, special session and technical program speakers who will discuss the latest trends, issues and challenges faced by the region’s process engineering under the theme ‘Meeting Future Challenges through Engineering Excellence.’
DuPont, one of the event’s Platinum Sponsors, will focus on how innovation – in both technology and management - can be leveraged to raise productivity, meet and surpass regulatory requirements, enhance process technology performance, improve safety, reduce costs and optimize investments. DuPont will present eleven technical papers at the MEPEC Conference to address topics ranging from creating cleaner fuels and reducing environmental footprint, to cultivating operational discipline and effectively managing large capital projects. Though wide-ranging, each technical paper provides insight on the means through which processes can be optimized, and sustainability fully integrated from the outset.
“Sustainability cannot be an afterthought; it has to be a priority” says Simon Herriott, Global Managing Director, Consulting, DuPont Sustainable Solutions. “It has to be integrated into everything we do as a company every day. In doing so, companies can better secure long-term success and maintain viability of an organization.”
“DuPont is working closely with its clients to ensure operational quality while developing innovative solutions for challenges such as sustainability. The Middle East is a hotbed of industrial activity and is undergoing scrutiny for the environmental impacts of its developments. MEPEC is an excellent platform to discuss how our region can better incorporate sustainability strategies into its diverse businesses, and how DuPont solutions fit perfectly into the productivity-with-sustainability equation. We encourage and collaborate with organizations that advocate for sustainability in making their workplaces cleaner, and greener,” said Ricardo Brahim, Oil & Gas Leader, Middle East.
Around 1,500 delegates are expected to join MEPEC 2013, which will be held under the patronage of H.R.H. Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The conference and exhibition will cover Manufacturing & Operational Excellence, Capital Project Efficiency, Talent & Technology Development, Process and Molecular Modeling, Clean Fuel, Environment and Sustainability, Process Safety & Risk Mitigation, and Process Automation & Optimization.
