Dubai eGovernment conducts quarterly meeting with all employees to foster transparency and update all on Q2 & Q3 progress

Dubai eGovernment recently invited all its employees to the second quarterly meeting with H.E. Ahmad Bin Humaidan, Director-General of Dubai eGovernment (DeG) at its headquarters in HH Dubai Ruler’s Court.

The meeting which covered Q2 and Q3 achievements and updates was also attended by Wesam Lootah, Assistant Director General, departmental directors and heads of sections, as part of an initiative by the Excellence and Performance Development Team at DeG to enhance its working environment, productivity and performance, foster transparency and update all on Q2 and Q3 progress.

The meeting was chaired by Bin Humaidan who reminded everyone of DeG’s mission and vision and clarified that such events were aimed at allowing all to exchange expertise and encourage creativity among employees. Bin Humaidan stressed the necessity for stronger bonds and transparency between senior management and all employees. Bin Humaidan said: “We are always inspired by the manner in which our leader, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai inspires us to speak our mind and address our concerns, during our interactions with him. Similarly, we have instituted our quarterly meetings, so that all employees can not only be updated on our achievements, challenges and next steps; but also have an open forum with our directors and managers, to address any concerns with healthy constructive dialogue and suggestions.”

Wesam Lootah, Assistant Director General of DeG and Head of the Excellence and Performance Development Team (EPD) at DeG kicked off the meeting with the objectives of EPD Team which had identified many ideas for enhancing DeG’s working environment, productivity and performance including the quarterly meetings, awareness of DeG’s strategy, employee satisfaction surveys, enhancing recruitment process and developing a reward methodology for employee suggestions.

Then Saeed Ahli, Director of Corporate Support Services Department of DeG welcomed all the new employees and briefed all on HR and finance initiatives including training and development plans, development of the intranet portal for employees, improvements to internal environment, health and safety as well as the corporate social responsibility events conducted by the department.

Dr. Okan Geray, Strategic Planning Consultant at DeG updated all on the overall projects status, the new performance management system, as well as a reminder of the upcoming eService evaluation and satisfaction surveys.

Sumaia Hammad, Director of Communication & Business Development Department, summarized the achievements and future plans of her department. These included roll-outs and completed projects, review of the department’s plans, training sessions undertaken for Dubai government employees, resolution of customer call support, media and social media statistics, as well as DEG’s participation in various sporting and cultural fields.

Matar Al Humairi, Director of Infrastructure Management Department, updated all on completed and in progress infrastructure projects, as well as security/email enhancements and operating system upgrades for the messaging and collaboration systems; and the Government Information Network.

Other specialists who provided updates and DeG upcoming product features included Shadi Diab, Supply Chain Mgt Systems Manager, who was acting on behalf of the Director of Government Resources Planning Department; Yara Sami Kakish, Sr. Quality Specialist; Jameel Wasfat Ahmed, eSolutions Development Section Manager; and Vaseem Ahmed, Principal Information Security Specialist.

Bin Humaidan brought the meeting to a close by conducting a very frank and open Q&A session during which suggestions related to developing work, greater interaction and bonding between senior management and employees were discussed.
