Dubai Customs launches ‘Employee Satisfaction Cup’
Dubai Customs organizes the first discussion forum titled, ‘Together for Dubai Customs Employee Happiness’; designed to address job satisfaction in an effort to retain Dubai Customs’ human capital of experts, specialists, technicians and experienced personnel. The Forum sheds light upon the one team morals, boosting the spirit of loyalty among employees via effective contribution to the nation regardless of designation or area of work.
The gathering introduced an open discussion session with the presence of H.E Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Dubai Customs Director, Buti Al Jumairi, Executive Director of Human Resources, Finance and Administration, and the recently named ‘ambassadors of happiness ‘representing various departments and customs centers, whose mission is to ensure a friendly working environment and to streamline the spirit of motivation and prosperous cooperation amongst working teams in order to attain the highest levels of employee satisfaction and ensure the direct interpretation of our wise leadership directives in placing employees happiness as a top priority.
The ‘happiness ambassadors’ comprised Yusuf Ozair, Intellectual Property Rights Department Director, Mohammad Nour Al Muaini, Land Customs Centers Management Director, Hmaid Al Rasheed, Air Customs Centers Management, Yousef Al Hashimi, Jebel Ali and Port Rashid Customs Centers Management Director, Khalid Ahmed, Manager, Dubai Customs Offices in DXB Terminal (1) and Maitha Khalaf, Senior Manager of Planning and Development Office at the Human Resources, Finance and Administration Division. All of them actively engaged in an open discussion addressing and stressing upon the key responsibilities of seniors towards their subordinates in terms of cascading justice, transparency, delegation, a good role-model, empowerment and maintaining an open door policy.
H.E Ahmed Mahboob, commended this unique initiative staged towards boosting up employee retention, and marked that such positive discussions can only help identify and maintain a sustainable bridge of communication between management and employees.
“In pursuance of this approach, we have launched the ‘Employee Satisfaction Cup’ initiative, genuinely designed to create an environment of friendly competition between various departments with the ultimate goal of achieving the highest level of satisfaction amongst employees,” Musabih highlighted.
He also stated, “We have already went the extra mile in bringing happiness to employees, which is depicted in a satisfaction score of 86% in 2014, as per an internal employee survey. This score is attributed to a wide array of satisfaction-driving initiatives which we introduced throughout that year.”
Under the motto, ‘Together for Dubai Customs Employee Happiness’, the happiness ambassadors will constitute working teams with the aim of generating innovative ideas and initiatives that will further push up the happiness thermometer across all customs centers and departments.
